Welcome Autumn

Winter is an etching, spring a watercolor, summer an oil painting and autumn a mosaic of them all. ~Stanley Horowitz

A few days ago we went on a mission to find the lake by our house. We knew there was one since we had seen it from the highway. Little did we know that is was just down the street and it was beautiful. You would never even know that on the other side of the trees there was a highway!

Welcome autumn!

Design on a Dime Halloween Decor

I know that I am packing up my house in 9 days, but I still cant help wanting to decorate for Fall.

I got a cute idea from this blog, who had taken the idea from this blog which involved me to take a trip to the dollar store.

First, I got 2 mini Christmas wreaths with berries on them and spray painted them black, to look Spooky

Second, I got a picture frame with 3 spots for photos… or letters! And spray painted it black.

Third, I printed out the letters BOO in different fonts and put them in the frame (Frame really isn't as unevenly painted and shiny as it looks)

Fourth, I set up my master piece in the corner of my living room and am proud of my design on a dime every time I walk by and see it! (It really isnt much... since I am moving in 9 days and I didnt want to go all out)

Remember those candle pillars I got for a dollar and spray painted black? They work perfect for Halloween. Just set the black wreaths on top and add a candle and wa-la!

The total cost for this project

$.96 for spray paint

$1.00 for the frame

$2.00 for 2 wreaths

I already had the paper and the printer with ink.

10 mins of my times - 3mins of which was trying to convince my husband that this WILL be cute and that I know what I am doing!
=$ 3.96 + tax! Not too bad!!

Happy Autumn

Happy first day of beautiful fall! Seems like just last week I was getting excited for Spring.

9 days until the movers come and pack up our house…we still don’t have a start date in Ohio yet.

I want to give at least 2 weeks’ notice to my job, but I have a feeling when Matt finds out a start date, we won’t have 2 weeks…I am mentally preparing for myself for the worst… but hoping for the best!

9 days until the movers come and I have a long list of stuff to-do. My weekend to-do list was pretty long but I only managed to get 1 items done which was clean the house and even then I didn’t finish it completely!

What did I do??

Well, I got the dogs Halloween Costumes together and took a few photos of them wearing there cute little outfits…Baxter is a pumpkin and Niquie is a fairy... The outfit is a child's outfit that I found at the Dollar Store. Good thing her waist is so tiny so she could fit the Tu-Tu! I also added thicker elastic to keep the wings from falling off...a fairy cant loose her wings!

I went grocery shopping…

I hung out with family…

I went to my cousins wedding…

I slept until 11 am one morning…

None of these were on my list. But I had fun…doesn’t that count?

Next weekend we are having a going away party at our house. I think I will get back to my list next Sunday after all the excitement is over… that leaves 3 days before the movers come… and 3 days to get everything we will need to survive, until we see our stuff again, all together.
