No longer a Military Wife

Today is Matt's last day in the Military. The last day as Staff Sargent

As of tomorrow, he is a free man.

He finished up his out processing today and should hear from his job soon on a definite start day. Hopefully by the first of March!

I think im more excited because I know that all the clothes that fill up our closet and closet floor right now are military uniforms that "couldn't" be removed and put in a better place before just in case "someone" one day needed to wear them. Really… do we need 15 shirts and pants and shoes that have never been worn before? In our 800 Sqft home, where ever we can save space, we should.

I should also mention that no one should look at my side of the closet. This is where I store all of my home décor. I have to store it in there because I know Matt won't try and throw it away. If I store it in the basement like I used to, some of my items come up "missing" and Matt who harps at me for being a pack rat, doesn't seem to know what happened to them. It's funny, because I often have to check the garbage when he is done cleaning, and what do you know… there are all my items that have been missing. That's when he gets amnesia and can't recall how the stuff got in there…Hmmm

I need to save all my home décor stuff though. One day I will have a house bigger than 800 sqft and I think it would be better to save my décor than have to buy it all again. One day I also might decide to sign up for the HGTV show Design on a Dime. They come to your house and go through all of your stuff and redecorate a whole room with the stuff you already have. My closet of junk will come in real handy one day and save us money in the long run.

In an effort to save space, we got a new TV this past weekend. It hangs on the wall! I'm especially excited since this will remove the big entertainment center that takes up half our bedroom and since our house is only 800 sqft, anything we can get up off the floor and on to the walls to save room, we should. Our room has undergone a makeover these past few weeks. It's like a new room for a new beginning. It's a more grown up sophisticated vintage moderish style…I love it.

Tomorrow is my birthday! Isn't it fun to grow old…

Geeze… 23 years old. Every year I always get sad on my birthday. I think it's because I hate growing up. I think this year I will be happy. I love my life! What is there to be sad about?

I also plan on getting a little personalized cake from cold stone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm dreaming of it now. I also get to get off of work 4 hours early tomorrow, which is not too shabby.

This Friday we are doing family dinner and Saturday Matt and I will celebrate. I think we might go to a movie and go play some miniature golf. I also want to drag him to the Color me mine shop where you paint your own pottery. This is the one chance I have to get him to go there with me, so Im going to take advantage of it.

On another happy note, Niquie's skin is looked really well. All of her sores have cleared up and her feet are just slightly pink. At this rate, she will only need to maybe visit the vet a few more times. She is looking really good though which makes us very very happy!

My dearest Birthday Girl -
What an awesome week. Matt is free. You are no longer a military wife, and you are 23 years old and so happy! I am so happy for you!

Color me mine is so much fun! Bryan and i went. He painted a piggy bank and I painted food dishes for my kitty cat. One said Hulk and the other says Hogan. So cute.

Anyway...I just love you so much. Let me know if you get something in the mail today.
