Happy Wednesday to you all.
This morning I walked outside to water and realized that my man eating plant has sure filled in nicely. I love this thing. I love that it grows so fast, (to the point where I have to go out and “train” it every other day).
(Before)
Because of his rapid growth, I have decided to name him Sota.
Sota is Japanese and stands for quick and thick. Since he grows so fast and his vines are like rope, I thought the name fit perfectly.
Since it has taken over the arbor, I have started stapling the vines to the fence with a heavy duty staple gun...I did that 5 days ago...
In a matter of 5 days, it has grown about 6 more inches…through the fence and over the gate and around the gate hardware… if I don’t go out and staple/train it today it might eat the next person that walks under the arbor.I love this Morning Glory plant so much that I have planted 2 more around the yards. 1 under the carport in which I hope to train to grow up around the front of the carport, making my house look like a little cottage…
I planted the other one by the fish pond next to our tool shed. I also plan on training this one to grow around the top of the tool shed…
I would have an entire back yard of just Morning Glory vines, but if you don’t train them, they will gladly take over everything. Anymore and I might have to quit my day job! But look how pretty they make everything look!

I wish I liked to be outside, maybe I'd buy some plants and beautify the porch.
Probably not gonna happen.
