Well since moving in, progress has seemed to be slow, at least to me. Then again, it has only been a week and every room is about 97% done
Tonight though, we stumbled across a furniture store that sells discounted furniture from top name brand places. It was really nice! Most of the stuff appears to be from Ashley Furniture which is wonderful since that is where we found our last couch at.
We went in looking for a TV stand for the basement but instead found a couch we both loved!
It’s a sage green microfiber and it was discounted because of a small tear on the upper arm and a scuff on the wood that trims the bottom. After looking it over and talking them down a bit, we made out with an awesome couch for a little over $500!
We got it home and after a small debate over whether to put it in the living room or basement, we decided to place it in the main living area… I thought it would fit a lot better in our living room but the shape of it makes it seem a bit awkward, but I think it will work.
After putting it in its place, we decided to move our existing couch and chair to the basement so Matt can have his own little living room space down there. WOW… this simple task was nothing simple I tell ya! After 1.5 hours and trying to get a couch through an opening that wasn’t made for a couch…we got it down there. I need to mention that this was done without a scratch on the wall or the couch…however, the couch was partially dismantled and we had to remove a door off the hinges but as soon as we made it though I was singing Hallelujah for the next 20 minutes!!
Here are some photos of the living room, kitchen, dining, both our offices and the basement. (Don’t look at the unorganized stuff that still needs to find a home… or the bear wallpaper. I plan on painting soon. You know a man cannot have bears in his “Man room”)
