I Love lamp

The Ake Family came to visit this weekend and we had such a blast.

On Saturday, Jaime and I went to Goodwill. This was Jaime's first time ever shopping at a Goodwill. (I find this extremely funny since Jaime is the coupon queen and often never pays out of pocket for most grocery items)

So we went to Goodwill. She got a few baskets and a like brand new jacket.

I got a lamp! A lamp in really good condition that had one really ugly shade. I paid$2.99 for the lamp.

After buying the lamp, we went over to Joann's and I got fabric to cover the ugly shade. I spent $4.00 for the fabric

I started hot gluing the fabric on the shade and before I knew it, I was done.

I am still debating on whether or not to spray paint the lamp itself, black. I guess it depends on where I put it. For now, it sits in my guest room and the white looks just fine. So for now, here is my lamp!
Total spent on the lamp- $7.00.... worth it? Well not really to me, but it was still a fun project!

Just make sure you do a better job than me... or you will be able to see the excess fabric through the lamp shade when you turn on the light... I think I will just keep it off!

Oooh that room needed a side lamp, perfect spot!

I was wondering how in the world people put fabric on lamps without the excess showing through, that's why I haven't attempted yet even though I have 3 lamps I want to recover. When you figure it out, teach me!

We miss you guys!
