Autumn Welcome

Craft time-Autumn sign

I love Fall. It's my all time favorite... I love thew smell of cinnamon and apples and pumpkin...

I love the cool weather and the way the air feels outside.

I love the trees changing color

I love visiting Apple Hill in California... completes the whole Fall feeling.

I love decorating for Fall. Tops Christmas for me.

I decided to make a fall sign to hang on the door

I got my inspiration from this http://joysofhome.blogspot.com/2008/11/sign-of-season.html.

Now I didn't have all of the things to make that exact sign, but I improvised.

I found this old Christmas sign that was pretty scratched up and chewed on the sides and thought it would work perfect

I painted it with different colors.. Black on the sides and chocolate brown on top. After it dried I rubbed in some dark reds and blacks and greens and then took sand paper to the corners to give it an old look.

Then, with my Cricut, I cut out the words "Happy Fall" out of black paper and glued them on cream colored paper.

After they were glued to the cream paper I distressed the edges with a black stamp pad then glued them on a fall colored piece of scrapbook paper.

I then cut out the letters and used spray adhesives to glue them to the painted piece of wood.
After it dried, I tired a ribbon to the back and wa-la! A perfect door sign for fall....

I plan on changing the ribbon to more of a twig like branch and possibly putting an acorn or pine cone in the middle of the 2 words... it still needs something there.
