Storm Watch 2008

We are having some crazy weather out here in beautiful California.

Normally, Californian’s freak out if we have over 2” of rain. Anything over 2” is normally considered a “Severe Weather Storm”

I remember when I lived in Washington and you couldn’t go outside because everything was frozen over. While being locked up in my house, Ellen DeGeneres was doing a show on “Storm Watch 2004”. I thought it was hilarious! She was making fun of how LA received 2” of rain and how everyone was freaking out. I guess that’s just California for you.

When My mother emailed me about 5 times telling me about this storm, it didn’t really phase me. I just figured it was just another little rain fall we would have which would soon pass.

Well last night I was unable to sleep because I felt like the wind was going to blow my house away. This morning Matt and I were watching the news and the news guys was being blown over. Winds reached 65+ MPH. Trees in our neighborhood were being uprooted, causing concrete to break and being blown down. All of the cars moved from one side of the street, to the other.

This morning on my way to work, going 20 miles under the speed limit, Matt called me. He said our tool shed was gone. It has been blown over. Everything was still inside on the concrete slab, everything but walls and a top.
Here is the photo he sent me.

The storm should be letting up soon. The winds should be dying down.
Until then, Im going to sit in my cubical at work and decorate for valentine’s day.
