I come from a famous back ground

Last week, after cleaning Grammy's trailer, I found a bunch of old photos.

Both of my grandma's were really into genealogy and luckily have posted most of their findings on the internet. Before the internet though, they did all their research by mail and the library.

When I was looking through the photos, most of them had stories and dates on the backs of them. My Grammy was always good about labeling her photos. With the information she had just on the few photos I found, I was able to start my family tree on Ancestry.com. When starting it, I found the one my grandma (on my dad's side) posted. I haven't added it completely yet, but so far, Im back into the 1700's… I'm really glad they did their research…it sure makes this a little too easy for me, but Im not complaining.

Ancestry.com also has this cool thing where you can search famous people you are related to. On my dad's side I am related to some pretty big people, like:

Andrew Johnson --3rd cousin, 3 times removed

Mark Twain --4th cousin, 1 time removed

Samuel Adams ---3rd cousin, 6 times removed

Laura Bush ---6th cousin, 2 times removed

John Locke ---2nd cousin, 10 times removed

Lady bird Johnson ---7th cousin, 1 time removed

William Howard Taft ---7th cousin, 1 time removed

F. Scott Fitzgerald ---7th cousin, 4 times removed

Clyde Barrow (of Bonnie and Clyde) ---8th cousin, 1 time removed

Lucy Maud Montgomery- Author of Anne of Green Gables ---10th cousin (Susan, I now know why I liked Anne of Green Gables… My 10th cousin wrote the books! Too bad she isn't alive anymore; maybe I could get a Meet n' Greet pass for us!)

Those are just some of the really famous ones… the list had about 15 more. Now, my goal is to find out who I am related to from my mother's side… That is this week's goal. Since my ancestry.com trial ends this week, I better hurry!

More to come on my family tree findings….
