Cant think of a title Friday

The sun has been shining here lately and it is sure making me miss home. Around this time last year, I was I was planting my gladiolus and starting to stock up on my new plants for the season… I miss my yards and I miss my house. I miss having a fenced back yard that is small and manageable. I miss my pond. I miss California.

Since our yard is huge here and not fenced, I don’t plan on gardening much, which is gonna kill me. I could spend hours playing in the dirt. But why spend so much time on a house and yard that we don’t love when our lease is up in 5 months? Plus, putting in some flowers beds would be a big task… so I have made up my mind to just do hanging baskets. It will look really pretty on our back porch and make it feel more like spring to me. I planned on doing that this weekend, but Mother Nature has decided to bring on the rain. So maybe Monday!

I also want to change the décor of our house… im kind of over it. I think this also has to do with my spring fever. I am kind of over the vintage art… so I am going to slowly start fading it out.
Today I went to my new favorite Goodwill and found some great finds!!
First, I found 2 pairs of shorts, both from Old Navy and a skirt from NY & Co. all for $1.50 each. They all fit too! No need to go shopping now for the cruise!

Then I found this coffee table. No, I don’t need a coffee table, but I couldn’t pass up the deal and it is cute and will make a great project for me on a nice day… I plan to sand it down and stain it a dark color. Maybe put it with the living room set in the basement. I figured for $12 the possibilities are endless. Once we have kids, I can paint the top with chalk board paint and it can become a chalk board… or I can paint a chess box on it… its prefect height for a little kid to sit at. I love it!

I also added 3 more vintage books to my collection at $1 each

A toile print pillow for $1… doesn’t fit our décor, but I am hoping to slowly incorporate it in without Matt knowing, since he won’t approve.

A serving tray for $.39

3 ceramic pots, perfect for my spring fever, $.39 ea

…And a blue suitcase. I know this is random, but I want to start collecting suitcases like Joys of Home. I love it! So I have 1 down and need about 10 more!

I came so unprepared to the goodwill today… I started noticing that everyone was wearing smocks/aprons and gloves. I thought they worked there until I tried to ask one of them a question. Turns out, they are just shopping. This is the same goodwill that you have to rummage through dirty bins to find good stuff. They know what they are doing!!

Every day this place has something new. I have never seen a goodwill like this before. Every day there is something new. I think I’m in love and this place might be my new obsession. I just have to remember my smock and gloves next time!

1. I can't wait to see what you do with the table!

2. OMG - that Goodwill is insane! I've never seen anything like it.

3. When my mom moves here she will have Emersons room. Thats partly why I never did anything with it, but my moms fave color is blue so she's happy I'm painting it, and I don't know when exactly she's moving so why keep putting off decorating it? It's been un-decorated long enough.

4. Good call on the brown rug, I was thinking about that last night when I was laying in bed. I am kind of toying with the idea of a navy rug too, but I'll probably get a brown one.

5. Oh and if we get a dining table, we'll have to get rid of the hutch. I don't know where we'll put everything we store in the hutch, so until I figure that out we won't be getting one.

Miss you guys!
